Links with Other Local Schools

Futures Learning Partnership

Home Farm Primary is a member of the Futures Learning Partnership along with following schools:

 

  • Buttershaw Business and Enterprise College
  • Farfield Primary
  • Hollingwood Primary
  • Reevy Primary
  • St Paul's Church of England Primary
  • Wibsey Primary
  • Woodside Primary

 

Together, the schools work on a number of initiatives to improve the Education of all the children in our local area. This year this has included:

 

  • Visits to places of employment and Leeds Metropolitan University
  • Visitors from the world of work
  • Training for school staff
  • Working together to get high quality student teachers training in our schools
  • Holiday clubs
  • Links between the primary schools and the secondary school to aid a smooth transition for Year 6 pupils

Great Heights 

Home Farm is a member of the Great Heights group of schools. The location of the schools stretch from Great Horton all the way up the hill to Queensbury. The other schools in this group are:

 

Brackenhill Primary

Foxhill Primary

Hollingwood Primary

Russell Hall Primary

Shibden Head Primary

Southmere Primary

Stocks Lane Primary

Queensbury High

 

This group of schools have worked on a variety of projects this year. These have included:

 

  • Visits by the headteachers and senior staff to each others' schools to share best practice
  • Joint support for our newest teachers; those who are newly qualified
  • The Great Heights Talent Competition
  • The employment of a Speech and Language Therapist 
  • Activities for Year 6 pupils to make their transition to Queensbury High and other secondary schools run smoothly
