Maths Makes Sense

A reminder that children  need to be in school by 8.50 prompt for the start of maths lessons every day. 

 

The skills we are developing during this block are

  • Writing vertical addition sums.
  • Actions for a gram and kilogram.
  • Turning a quarter of a turn, half a turn, 3/4 of a turn and one full turn.
  • Writing real life math stories.

 

 

Numeracy Passports
 
Your child has been sent home with their current Numeracy Passport. Please can you spend time each week practicing passport targets.

Enrichment activities- Spring 1
 
 
 
This half term, on a Monday morning, year 1 are doing sport and ICT/Art. Please send your child a their PE kit. Thank you.
 
 
 
 

 

Things to remember...

 

 

Please send their reading book to school everyday for them to read during the day. Books will be changed on a Friday.

 

 

PE is on a Monday and Thursday, If you take PE kits home to be washed please make sure they are back at school on a Monday. Black shorts, white t-shirt and black pumps.

 

 

When your child brings home a new paper, READ, WRITE, INC book please send the previous book back to school.

 

 

Weekend projects are sent out on a Friday and should be brought back to school and put in the homework book basket on the Monday.

 

 

Polite requests...

 

 

It is important children have a drink of water in class to help themselves to throughout the day, so if your child doesn't bring a water bottle please can they start to do so. Please make sure it has your childs name on it.

 

 

Can jumpers and PE kits be labelled with your childs name.
